Bridge to Action Neighborhood Developer Accelerator Program Contribution

Black developers represent less than 1% of the real estate development industry. This lack of representation presents an issue in the industry as well as in the way black communities are perceived and developed. A community that is not empowered to shape their physical environment is a key reason communities fall victim to displacement, loss of culture, and disinvestment. The Bridge to Action (B2A) program will build capacity for small scale developers throughout Greater Houston that focus on developing housing and commercial options that align with concurrent revitalization efforts.

The program will do this by connecting them to contextual educational resources, pathways to capital, and providing responsible development practices that streamline their ability to scale. By deploying this program we will support and instill responsible development practices and drive economic sustainability in urban communities across the country.
